Yes, one every event. First china had an underage girl participate in the team events. Then the vault that was so clearly bs. Now this bs with a gold tie, but wait it can only go to one, lets give it to the china girl.

I agree.
And WAYLON… if a lot of people are leaving questions like these, there’s obviously a problem.

I see that nastia REALLY got robbed in the bars final. same score as the other girl, but because of some bs tie-breaking rule, nastia gets the silver. doesn’t seem fair to me.

im kinda sik of this question. look at this judges r they all chinese? no! there r judges from all around the country so unless china payed them which i doubt they would except because they probly get a good salary (i mean, anything involving the olympics probly pays pretty good) it is fair game. after all who they do have computers which help them see the routine to every detail and since i doubt u r an expert in gymnastics why dont u LEAVE THE JUDGING TO THE JUDGES!

A tiebreaker was used because dual medals are no longer awarded in gymnastics.
And that tiebreaker was so complex that long after the medals were handed out, International Gymnastics Federation officials still were explaining it.
Suffice it to say that because of the deductions from a perfect 10 for each gymnast in their execution scores, He had gold and Liukin had her second silver and fourth overall medal of these games.
For me, it’s not correct, said FIG president Bruno Grandi, who noted the rules for dual medals were dropped in 1997 at the direction of the IOC. When two people arrive on the same level, they are champions. But this competition doesn’t belong to us. It is the IOC’s.
I believe it’s correct to have two gold medals, but this is my modest opinion. The IOC is different.
Liukin would not criticize the scoring system.
It’s nothing I can control, and honestly, I can say it has been very fair to me, and I got the biggest gold medal of them all, said Liukin, winner of the gold in women’s all-around gymnastics.

Can you deny that the Chinese gymnasts performed extremely well? Btw, I cannot be sure whether this is happening in gymnastics but there is always a slight bias for the host country. On the other hand, people said that the Chinese gymnast who won the bronze was underscored. All I can say is we’re not the judges, we don’t know all the rules, and we can’t see things that they can see.
And Lisa, since when does majority opinion (if yahoo is even a good representation of the whole population) = the truth?

I’m glad we settle on the judging (or misjudging) instead of professionals competing. All the athletes are basically professional to this point. So the games have digressed to a financial or economic thing. The country with the money gets the medals. The Olympics are now just a form of entertainment like professional wrestling. Nothing more nothing less.

yes yes yes, they really are.

I thought Shawn Johnson should have won the floor exercise and thought she was the best. I also think they need better judges, but so far the judging is mediocre and have seen it worse.

Well another gold ripped out of the hands of the Americans. A tie that should have never happened obviously on the uneven bars. Well all I have to say is ***** the IOC and China. How pitiful that you actually have to cheat in competition that was made for sportmanship.
