the US would just get embarresed in the Olympics by Cuba or any other Carribean team. so it would be best if we did not have it. oh yeah we didnt even qualify for the 2004 Olympics

Both sports should be permanent fixtures in the Olympics! The game is played worldwide, except by the British and their former colonists, who play cricket. Why not have England, India, Australia, et al, battle for the gold in that sport, while the rest of us play the real game!

The argument for not including softball/baseball in the olympics is because it is a US dominated sport. I do not believe that that is entirely true. The US is of course one of the best teams, but not THE best. In softball, at least, Japan, China, and Canada have proven to be some of the elite teams in the game. I think that both sports should be reinstated, since there are other sports that are certain country dominated, that people have never heard of and are much more boring to watch than baseball and softball.

I have no opinion about baseball but I believe that softball should. There is no professional softball league anywhere in the world. So, for elite athletes at this sport they have nothing to look forward to after college if there is no Olympics. One of the reasons they gave for getting rid of softball is that there is not enough competition that the USA has dominated and other countries have little to no chance. These women deserve to be recognized for their talent by the world and be olympic champions. They will never be compensated like the men they should at least get some sort of recognition. I think its absolutely rediculous to get rid of this sport. Especially when you consider all the other sports that are in the olympics (many of which i had never heard of). So many girls grow up playing this sport that i would **** if this would be taken away from them.

I think that softball should be put back in the olympics since it is really for alot more countries then baseball. baseball is really for us and japan. but softball is somethign that alot of people enjoy and go to see.
