   The Olympics held in 1896 Athens where only the Summer Olympics.

   1st Winter Olympics started in 1924 Chamonix,France.

   From 1924 till 1992 Winter and Summer Olympics where held in the same year until IOC decided to change this. In 1994 the Winter Olympics where held again so as not to be in the same year as the Summer Olympics.

   Next Winter Olympics will be held from the 12th till 28th February 2010 in Vancouver, Canada.

   Next Summer games will be 2012 London.

   summer started in 1896 with the games of Athens.The first winter Olympics were held in 1924 in Chamonix France.

   No. The first summer Games were held in Athens, Greece in 1896. The first winter Games were held in Chamonix, France in 1924.
