   ABC had to stay up and watch Katerina Witt almost made me want to defect to the GDR.

   CBC in Canada

   The American host network, ABC paid a record $398 million for bradcasting rights, with the Canadian CTV television network paying domestic rights for $45 million.

   TV New Zealand paid I don’t know how much to the big North American networks for the rights to screen the Calgary 1988 Winter Olympics.
